The next step is to set up the additional payments for Christmas and New Year's Eve dinner.
According to the contract:
- There is a price for adults and older children.
- Small children are free.
- New Year's Eve dinner is mandatory for everyone staying overnight on 31/12.
- Christmas dinner is optional and is charged only if purchased.
These settings are made in the "Holiday Packages" section.
New Year's Eve dinner
Add a row and fill in:
- Text: "New Year's dinner" (will be visible in the charge)
- Date: 31/12/2025 (will be charged on this date, only for bookings with an overnight stay on this day)
- Multiplier (per): "for Adult" – this line covers adults
- Charge template: select the template
- Price: 155 (adult)
We add a second row for children:
- Quantity (for): "for Child"
- Price: 95
Christmas dinner
Unlike New Year's Eve dinner, Christmas dinner is not mandatory. This means that it will only be charged for bookings where guests have explicitly purchased it. In order for the system to 'recognize' such cases, we must first prepare activation codes. They will serve as a marker that Christmas dinner has been added to a specific booking.
Our contract has two different prices – one for adults and one for children. Therefore, in the "Activation Codes" section, we will create two separate codes:
- CDAD – for adults,
- CDCH – for children.
Once the codes are ready, we return to the "Holiday Packages" section and set up the additional payment itself.
We add the first line for adults:
- In the Text field, we specify "Christmas dinner".
- Date: 12/24/2025 – the additional payment will be charged on this date, only for bookings with an overnight stay on this day.
- Activation Code: select the code CDAD.
- Charge template: select the charge template.
- Enter price: 90 (adult).
Then we add a second line for the children:
- Text: "Christmas dinner"
- Same Date: 24/12/2025
- Code: CDCH
- Template: can remain the same
- Price: 50
Important: It is crucial to note that for optional extras (such as Christmas dinner), we use specific activation codes, as only these can show whether and how many dinners have been purchased. If we use the "Multiplier (for)" field, the system would charge the dinner to all bookings that have an overnight stay on that day, which does not comply with the terms of the contract.
