Get started
These are the steps to get your new V400m payment terminal up and running. More detailed instructions are available below.
- Inspect the terminal.
- Insert the receipt paper roll.
- Open the cover on the back of the terminal, connect the dongle cable, and close the cover.
- Turn on the terminal by connecting it to a power source. During startup the display turns on and off a few times.
- Select Configure network. Then connect the terminal to your network.
Inspect the terminal
Because payment terminals process sensitive card data, you must verify that the terminal you received is the correct one, supplied by Clock, and hasn't been tampered with.
- Verify that the box containing the terminal hasn't been opened and that the security seal is intact. The security seal is a label with the Clock PMS+ logo, stuck across the lid of the box.
- Break the security seal, take the terminal out of the box, and verify that the serial number (S/N) on the terminal is the same as the serial number on the box.
- Inspect the terminal for tampering. Check for missing seals or screws, additional wires or labels, holes in the device, and anything inserted in or attached to any part of the terminal.
Insert the receipt paper roll
- Pull up the latch of the paper compartment and swing the cover downwards.
- Insert the paper roll making sure the paper sticks out a bit.
- Close the cover of the paper roll compartment.
Connect to your network
Connect your terminal to the internet so that it can communicate with the Adyen payments platform.
Connect to Wi-Fi
- On the terminal display, select Configure network.
- Select Wi-Fi.
- Turn on the Wi-Fi toggle switch.
- Select the + icon to add a network. The terminal scans for Wi-Fi networks.
- Choose the desired network from the list and enter the Wi-Fi password, or select Add manually and enter the name (SSID) of the Wi-Fi network and the Wi-Fi password.
- Select the check mark to confirm. The terminal sets the network as default automatically and connects to it. You'll now see a Wi-Fi icon at the top of the display.

Device info
Select 5 and then the Confirm key to access:
A screen appears, with:
- Model, serial number, and IP address of the terminal.
- Software version and configuration version that the terminal currently uses.
- Merchant account and store that the terminal belongs to.
- A button to show a QR code with device info.
Transactions menu
Select 8 and then the Confirm key to access:
Through the transactions menu you can generate a Totals report. This gives an overview of the total amounts for sales, refunds, gratuities (tips), and cancellations that the terminal processed since the last reset of the report. By resetting the report, you can use this functionality to get day totals or shift totals.

To obtain the Totals report:
- Go to the Transactions menu.
- Select Totals. Shows the Totals report for the period shown at the top of the report.
- Select an action:
- Print > Yes: prints the Totals report.
- (Optional) To reset the counter after printing the (day or shift) totals, select Yes at the Reset totals? prompt.
- Reset > Yes: starts a new reporting period. The totals from the previous period are no longer shown.
To print another copy of the shopper or merchant receipt for a specific transaction:
- Go to the Transactions menu.
- Select History.
- Select the transaction that you want to reprint a receipt for.
- Click the Print icon and then choose the receipt you want to print: Shopper receipt or Merchant receipt.
Admin menu
Select 9 and then the Confirm key to access:
You'll need the Admin menu on the terminal for various tasks. To open the Admin menu:
