Types of printouts

In this article, we will showcase the various printouts you can have if you use kitchen/restaurant printers along with information on how to control what and where to be printed.

In Clock POS you can have 3 types of printouts:

Kitchen receipt

The Kitchen receipts are the most basic printouts and are intended to be used by the chefs. In order to have kitchen receipts you must:

• have 'Kitchen'(s) created and a printer attached to them.
• in the Menu Item settings, select the Kitchen where this item is prepared.

With the above set, once you send an order, each kitchen printer will print the kitchen receipt with the items prepared in that kitchen (or bar). You will have at least one kitchen receipt printer per kitchen with the option to have more (see below).

Order

The order printouts contain the menu items from the current order you are sending (including their prices) and also show a subtotal price for the whole table (including any previous orders sent for this table/seating). Printing orders is optional. To have an order printed you must have a 'Local printer' selected (see below).

Bill

The Bill printout contains all items ordered for this seating with their prices and a grand total. Furthermore, once the bill is closed, the printout will also include information (amount, type) about the payment. If the bill was transferred to the room folio, the printout will contain information to which booking it was transferred and a signature line (or the signature if the guest signed the bill digitally). Printing of bills is optional. In order to have a bill printed you must have a combination of 'Printer settings' and 'Local settings' configured (see below).

Settings

There are 2 groups of settings allowing you to control what type of printouts you will have, how many, and where they will be printed.

Printer settings

The first group is the 'Printer' settings. You can locate the available options from menu Management -> Printers.

Local settings

The second group is the 'Local settings'. Using the local settings you can control:

• if you want to print an 'Order' and on which printer it will come out.
• if you want to print a 'Bill' and on which printer it will come out.
• if you want to have a second 'Kitchen receipt', you must select a 'Local printer for kitchen receipts'.

You can locate these settings on the home (table) page of the POS. Simply access the POS from each device you use in your F&B outlet to send orders and issue final bills, and click on each to select a printer.

• 'There is no local printer selected.....' - by selecting a printer in this option, you define on which printer any orders and/or final bills that are issued from this particular device, will be printed.
• 'There is no local printer for kitchen receipts selected......' - by selecting a printer in this option, you will print a second 'Kitchen receipt' per kitchen, on the selected local printer.
