Clock PMS+ offers you several rate types which you can make use of to build up your rate structure and subsequently manage your pricing easily and in accordance with your pricing strategy.

Base (Standard) Rates

Base rates are the most simple of all the rate types in Clock PMS+ and are not controlled by any other rate. You create a base rate for a specific Room type and apply a price to it. Any subsequent price changes (a new seasonal price or day price) need to be applied individually in every Base rate that you need changing.

Derived Rates

The derived rates allow for more flexible prices based on other rates.

Derived rates calculate their prices by adding or subtracting amounts (Derived Amount rate) or percentage (Derived Percent Rate) to/from an existing rate. When the prices in the connected rate change, the prices in the rates derived from it change automatically as well. This facilitates rate management significantly and reduces the possibility of errors. The most common use cases of derived rates are to interconnect rates for the same room type that refer to different boards. The clip below showcases this example by having 3 rates - Room Only; Bed and Breakfast; Half Board (Breakfast + Dinner) for the same room type. The BB is set to be always 50% higher than the RO, while the HB rate is always 50% higher than the BB. By having such a setup, you only need to adjust prices in the RO rate, while the other two will automatically recalculate. Of course, there are many other use cases of derived rates.

Occupancy Adaptable Rates

Occupancy adaptable rates are an advanced revenue management feature of Clock PMS+. They help Clock PMS+ to track your hotel occupancy and automatically change pricing when the certain occupancy levels for your hotel are reached without you lifting a finger. Still, you can take advantage of the manual price option for the dates when you know that there will be high demand and you would not like the automatic levels to be activated.

Per Guest Rates

For the hotels whose prices depend on the number of guests or adults and children, the Per-Guest Rates feature is very handy, as it can be used by hotels to manage their prices and it can also considerably reduce the number of the supported rates. One rate can be set to take care of all the combinations of adults and children. The system is very flexible and can calculate a wide range of pricing cases. In contrast to other guest-based rates, with the Per-Guest Rates, you define the very guest levels and conditions for price calculation. This way, you can solve simple cases in a simple way, and the complex ones - through the setup of more guest levels of a more complex structure. Use the Per-Guest rates to define a price depending on how many and what kind of guests will use the room/unit. The feature allows you to define a price considering both the number of guests and their type: adults or children. It is even possible to determine various prices for children depending on their age. The Per-Guest rates can also function as the derived ones letting you easily create package rates whose prices depend on the number of guests. Please note that Per Guest Rates are not exactly a separate rate type. Instead, base or derived rates are marked to be 'Per Guest'.

Tour operator Contracts

Pricing and conditions with traditional Tour operators are quite specific and different from a regular rate that you would publish on your website or map to an OTA for example. These prices and conditions are determined in the contract that you sign with the Tour operator which outlines very precisely prices for different number of Adults, Children, different pricing based on ages of the children, price adjustments depending on the chosen board (BB, HB, FB, All inclusive) and can include discounts for Early bird bookers or offers such as 7=5.

Hurdle Rates

The Hurdle rates are used to dynamically manage multiple rates. By editing one rate (Hurdle rate), you can stop rates for certain days or increase the minimum prices of multiple related rates. These types of rates are not designed to be published or sold, instead, they have a control function - you attach a Hurdle rate to the rates you actually publish and sell and control them through the Hurdle rate - stop sales for certain days in rates that have a price lower than the one set in the Hurdle rate or automatically adjust the price in the rate to be the one from the Hurdle.
