Overview

SALTO is a well-known provider of door lock solutions. Its latest offering SALTO KS delivers a flexible smart lock system tailored for your business, and the hospitality sector is no exception. Integration with Clock PMS+ allows your guests to automatically gain access to their rooms and other designated areas immediately after check-in. Access is automatically revoked at check-out.

The SALTO KS integration with Clock PMS+ supports mobile keys, providing a seamless and convenient access experience for guests. However, if guests require a more traditional unlocking option, SALTO KS unlock tags can be configured through SALTO's portal.

Guest Experience

Guests do not need to download a native app to use their mobile keys. The interface automatically issues keys at check-in. Immediately after a booking is checked in, the Virtual Door Keys become accessible in the MyBooking Portal.


Set it up

Before you can connect your SALTO KS to Clock PMS+ you need to make sure some preparations are done:

Create a New Administrator User in SALTO KS

  • Log in to the SALTO KS Platform. Ensure you have admin access.
  • Navigate to User Management and select the respective Site.
  • Go to People -> Create Users -> Manually and complete the User Creation Steps:
    • Step 1: Enter the First and Last Name.
    • Step 2: Select the "Site Admin" role and specify an email address that is accessible to you and not already registered in SALTO KS.
    • Step 3: No selections are required.
    • Step 4: Click CREATE.
  •  Complete User Registration:
    • Check the specified email address for a welcome message.
    • Follow the instructions to complete user registration and set a password.

Important: Remember the password, as it will be necessary for the connection.

Prepare Clock PMS+ for Integration

  • Log in to Clock PMS+
  • Use a user account with the AppConnector rights. Ensure the user has the "Activate / Deactivate integrations" permission granted.

Configuration of the Connection:

Activate SALTO KS Integration in Clock PMS+

  • Navigate to Settings -> All Settings -> AppConnector.
  • Activate the SALTO KS integration from the Room Access category.

Authorize the Integration

  • Once activated, click the Settings button at the bottom of the integrations card.
  • Select the SALTO KS AUTHORIZATION option.
  • Use the newly created SALTO KS user (with the "Site Admin" role) to authorize the connection.

  • Select YES, ALLOW to authorise the connection between Clock PMS+ and your SALTO KS account;

Activate IQs (Integration Queues):

  • After a successful connection, a list of all IQs configured for your site will appear.
  • Each IQ must be activated with a PIN sent to the SALTO KS user’s email. Steps to Activate IQs:
    • Click on Send PIN next to each IQ.
    • Retrieve the PIN from the SALTO KS user’s mailbox.
    • Enter the PIN for the respective ID.
    • Click Update.

Note: IQs control the locks and must be activated before adding SALTO KS locks to Clock PMS+ configurations.

Map Rooms

  • Once all necessary IQs are activated, proceed to Room and Common Door Codes Mapping. Steps:
    • Select Add Lock.
    • Choose the respective lock(s) for each configured Clock PMS+ room.
    • If guests need to open multiple restricted doors before reaching their room, add multiple locks for that room.

Configure Common Door Codes (If Applicable)

  • If you use Common Door Codes, apply the same configuration settings as above for those doors.

Troubleshooting

Error "Operation cannot be executed. IQ restore is required" during unlock

The error means the IQ which controls the lock has been reset for some reason. The reset option is feature supported by the IQ hardware itself. To overcome the situation:

  • Log in to the SALTO KS Platform (with the SALTO KS user having authorised the connection)
  • Navigate to Site -> Hardware -> From the list of Integration Queues  find the one(s) with IQ has been reset label and perform Restore form the 3 dot menu.

Error "Cannot find pin for the accessor" during unlock

The error means the IQ is not activated for some reason and the PIN should be updated.

Login to your Clock PMS+ account Settings -> All Settings -> App Connector -> SALTO KS -> Settings:

  • Click on Send PIN next to each IQ which has UNACTIVATED label.
  • Retrieve the PIN from the SALTO KS user’s mailbox.
  • Enter the PIN for the respective ID.
  • Click Update.
